Integrated advancement communications for an independent Jesuit high school that develops men for and with others
St. Joseph’s Preparatory School, best known in its Philadelphia home as “The Prep,” is an independent Catholic high school that engenders a deep sense of brotherhood among its students and alumni. We at Leapfrog believe that advancement communications must be an extension of a school’s institutional messaging, and The Prep was no exception. We worked as part of a cohesive team that included both marketing and advancement leadership to create a campaign theme and identity, annual reports, case statements, a strategic plan, and direct mail that extended and elevated The Prep’s profile in its community and drew widespread support for its fundraising priorities.

A published strategic plan is a powerful pre-campaign communication for any school community. It creates excitement for the future of the institution and lays the groundwork for a successful campaign. “Many Parts, One Prep” shares the strategic direction of the school and areas for investment during the campaign’s quiet phase.
The Prep needed a campaign theme that deeply resonates with its community of families. As a Jesuit high school, The Prep’s mission is to “develop the minds, hearts, souls, and characters of young men in their pursuit of becoming men for and with others.” The campaign theme “For Others Forever” highlights the purpose of the campaign—to benefit other young men who will have the opportunity to enjoy the same tradition of excellence as previous generations—while calling upon the alumni’s shared identity as a brotherhood of “men for and with others.”
