Meg combines her passion for journalism with her desire to tell compelling, authentic stories in meaningful and surprising ways. She has dedicated her career to crafting thoughtful narratives that elevate people’s missions and aspirations.
Meg began her career as a magazine editor, writing and producing stories for a variety of publications, from Spy and Harper’s Bazaar to San Francisco and Philadelphia magazines. She later joined the Advancement Office at Germantown Friends School, where she served as Director of Annual Giving, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Director of Publications. Meg stewarded the school’s brand through the creation of a wide portfolio of print and digital materials, including admissions viewbooks and videos, website and alumni magazine redesigns, fundraising appeals, annual reports, and positioning and vision statements. Under her direction, the school’s “K Through Life” viewbook received the CASE Gold Circle of Excellence award.
Meg also instituted GFS’s first journalism program and founded and directed the GFS Center for Journalism + Social Impact.
She is the author of Read My Lips: A Cultural History of Lipstick (Chronicle Books).
Meg received a B.A. in English from Pomona College and an M.S.J. in Reporting & Writing from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalis
