Germantown Academy boasts a long history and deep ties with its alumni and families. In an effort to better understand the needs and wants of their community and the areas of connection that were strongest and needed attention, the school’s advancement office embarked on a discovery and messaging project. A collection of conversations with a variety of community members resulted in a clear picture of how to better connect, strengthen existing relationships and encourage investment in the present and future of the institution.

A campaign case statement reflected both the centuries-long history and vision for the future, connecting the past and the present through illustrations, text that was both nostalgic and forward-looking, and images that inspired investment in the people and programs that make Germantown Academy unique.
Messaging that resulted from constituent discovery sessions formed the foundation for both copy and design in a series of annual giving communications focused on forging connections and encouraging participation in annual campaigns and outreach events.
